Downtown Coral Gables is made for walking: Miracle Mile, Giralda Plaza and the city’s Mediterranean Revival streets are all within a few blocks. Tap 42 Coral Gables has been part of that neighborhood since 2016, at 301 Giralda Avenue on the corner of Salzedo Street, two blocks north of Miracle Mile.

Lunch downtown

Lunch starts at 11:30 am on weekdays, so it fits a working lunch for the downtown offices or the staff at Coral Gables City Hall, about a five-minute walk away. Burgers like The Prohibition and The Big Smash, bowls and shareables cover a quick bite or a longer team meal. The Coral Gables Museum is steps from the door if you want to make an afternoon of it.

Happy hour in Coral Gables

Happy hour runs Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 pm at the bar, with $2 off craft beer, $3 off wine and craft cocktails, and $4 off spirits. On Mondays, Burger Bash takes $5 off The Prohibition, The Big Smash or The Drunken Goat with fries when you order a drink, from 4 pm to close (dine-in only).

Weekend brunch

Saturday and Sunday from 11 am to 3 pm, bottomless brunch brings $25 bottomless mimosas, Bloody Marys and Andrews Avenue Lager. Grab a tufted leather booth on the covered sidewalk patio beside the living plant wall, then walk it off along Miracle Mile.

Parking and getting here

City of Coral Gables garages are a few minutes’ walk away, including Garage 2 at 220 Aragon Avenue and the Minorca Garage at 254 Minorca Avenue. City garages charge $1 per 24 minutes with an $18 daily maximum, and there is metered street parking downtown. Skipping the car? The free Coral Gables Trolley runs Monday through Saturday from 6:30 am to 10 pm along Ponce de Leon Boulevard, one block east, and connects to the Douglas Road Metrorail station.
